Position description

GBS Global Trade Organization (GTO) is looking for a professional to assist the Import and Export Advisors with the upfront and post transaction work.This position will be part of the planning, organizing, and executing day-to-day operations to achieve targeted results in a fast paced and challenging export/import environment. This position applies U.S. Government export and import regulations to all the tasks related to Broker’s Entry Instructions, import entries, Export declarations and EEI filings, primarily for our SAS business, following standard operating procedures. 

This position reports to the Services Leader directly and matrix-reports to the Export and Import Declarations Leaders. In order to balance the work of our GBS-GTO team, this role may be requested to perform the tasks for programs associated with multiple businesses. 

Required Skills: 

·2 years of experience with freight forwarder or international carrier (airline or steamship line)

·Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to respond efficiently and effectively to time-critical issues with competing / conflicting priorities. 

·Self-starter who can develop effective networks with internal and external customers.

·Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office application 

·Be a team player and have the ability to work in a team environment 

·Strong sense of urgency

·Detail and task oriented and ability to multi-task

Desired Skills:

·Familiar with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations, policy, government relations, business or some knowledge and application of import/export trade regulations (e.g., International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), and Customs and Border Protection Export Enforcement (CBP), Defense Security Service (DSS)

·Good interpersonal skills

·Strong verbal and writing skills 

·Experience dealing with CBP and Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) 

·Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and Classified Materials.

·Degree in International Relations

Required Education and Experience:

·Bachelor’s Degree and 2 Years of applicable experience
