The Transport Division (INE / TSP) technically supports IDB member countries in the design of operations in transportation (roads, ports, airports, railways, etc.), in order to contribute to a more inclusive world and improve conditions for mobility of people and cargo in rural and urban areas. In addition to this extensive operating experience, the division generates and disseminates knowledge particularly under specific sectorial areas as Sustainable Transport, Logistics, Road Safety, Mega Projects and intelligent transport systems and cross-cutting issues such as gender equality and Opportunities and Regional Integration. Within this Division, the group of post-production (were internship takes place) is in charge of gathering and structuring knowledge, as well as to mainstream innovative topics relevant for the sector. The team is composed by 4-5 members from different disciplines coordinated by a staff member. / transport specialist that reports to the Division Chief.
The purpose of the Internship program is to provide an opportunity for university students to learn about the operations of the IDB, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job training during their summer vacation before returning to their studies.
