The Human Resources (HR) team is based in Open Society Foundations offices in Budapest, London and New York, but supports our staff across: Washington DC, Baltimore, New York, Rio de Janeiro, London, Brussels, Barcelona, Tunis, Amman, Singapore, Budapest and soon to expand to more locations. The team is comprised of generalists spanning the North America/Latin America, Europe & Eurasia, Middle East & North Africa & South West Asia, and Asia Pacific regions, as well as, HR specialists comprised of Talent Development, Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Compensation & Benefits, and Recruitment. We also work in partnership with the Heads of HR of our various foundations around the globe.
The global recruiting team consists of four recruitment partners, two based in the UK and two based in New York, a sourcer based in the UK and three recruitment coordinators. Together they support recruitment across the USA, South America, Europe, Middle East and Asia for all positions ranging from part-time administrative staff to program directors. The global recruiting team partners with hiring managers to provide direction and guidance that will ensure the best hiring decisions by fully understanding their staffing needs, and by creating new strategies for identifying, sourcing and recruiting candidates across a variety of industries and geographic locations.
The goal of the recruiting team is to launch a recruitment model focused on adding value by driving consistency, efficiency and results across Open Society and regional foundations and to leverage in-house expertise that provides Open Society with the most talented & diverse top-tier candidates, internally & externally, in the shortest times frames, while reducing expenses and providing superior customer service.
We are currently seeking a recruitment partner for a fixed-term contract of 7 months.

As a recruitment partner, you will be fundamental in aiding the Open Society Foundations achieve its goal by developing and implementing recruiting strategies to identify and attract the best talent to ensure Open Society’s continued success and partnering strategically with management to identify key internal and external candidates for positions across Open Society.
As a recruitment partner you will work across multiple geographies to create and manage effective recruitment processes and sourcing strategies to attract talented employees into the organisation. Working collaboratively with other members of the recruitment team in London and New York you will work towards delivering a strong and robust global recruitment service by utilising a variety of recruitment methods and tools such as social media and executive search techniques and will assist in building, strengthening, and expanding key Open Society programs and initiatives by proactively recruiting top candidate with experience in areas such Grant Making, Advocacy, Program management and Communications with specialist skills in different areas of philanthropy, such as minority rights, access to education and health and transparency and good governance.
More specifically the recruitment partner will:
The recruitment partner will have extensive experience managing end to end recruitment process in an internal recruitment or agency capacity, direct sourcing including advertising media, social media, recruitment marketing, LinkedIn recruiting and executive search. They will have demonstrated ability to execute a consultative approach to customer service and stakeholder management.
The work at Open Society Foundations can change quickly depending on world events or crises. As a result recruitment needs can change rapidly and with little notice, sometimes during an already initiated recruitment process. As a recruitment partner you will need to feel comfortable working with ambiguity and change, and have experience working in an environment that is not heavily process or policy driven. You will be comfortable with autonomy and have the ability to make decisions based on your recruitment expertise and creativity.
Given the nature of the team we are looking for someone who is solutions oriented, has a positive attitude and a great sense of humour. We like people who have an ability to laugh at themselves, not be afraid to say they don’t know something, yet be hungry and curious enough to find the answer!
