Position description

The Director of Global Services is responsible individually, and through reporting staff to represent ICC internationally, develop and channel international interest in ICC, its codes, products and services to appropriate organizational units for evaluation and potential business expansion. 

Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Director of Business Development, the Director of Global Services works closely with senior staff responsible for business development, government relations, training, certification, and technical services, as well as the Presidents of the ICC subsidiaries, on international matters.  Individual develops and maintains significant contacts with public and private sector leaders and organizations throughout the world on matters relating to ICC.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for translating organizational mission into desired international outcomes through the development and direction of assigned staff as well as close cooperation with management and staff of related departments
  • Contribute to the overall strategic and operating plans of ICC through critical analysis of international opportunities and capabilities
  • Develop targeted, fiscally sound goals for international growth; act as a catalyst in promoting and developing an environment that recognizes and rewards creative, innovative thinking and actions
  • Foster and maintain solid working relationships with executive counterparts and subordinates through teamwork
  • Effective operational implementation and responsive communication
  • Assist operating units in achieving international service, growth, revenue and retention objectives through identification and development of contacts and opportunities and providing direct support wherever needed 
  • Develop and direct a subordinate team capable of effectively managing the targeted areas of international growth
  • Work with stakeholders and clients in developing appropriate delivery solutions for international needs
  • Ensure clarity of objectives and purpose for all assigned staff, including the establishment and implementation of clear and appropriate standards of performance as well as the honest and equitable evaluation of individual employee performance results
  • Direct the documentation, tracking, and timely reporting of operating results
  • Establish and maintain beneficial communication with a broad spectrum of key individuals and organizations internationally in both the public and private sectors
  • Travel on demand, attending and participating in conferences and meetings
  • Handle business negotiations, fulfill speaking engagements, and attend other important functions, both domestically and internationally
  • Perform other tasks and duties as may be directed by the Executive Vice President & Director of Business Development


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (emphasis in International Relations, Business Administration, International Economics, or Public Policy highly desirable)
  • Strong familiarity with Governmental entities/institutions involved in promoting international trade and development such as the Department of Commerce, USAID, World Bank, etc. 
  • Minimum of five years prior successful executive level responsibility for international functions in an organization of similar constituency and complexity
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and persistence
  • Personal integrity critical to developing and maintaining consensus and the support of major stakeholders
  • Open, approachable style of dealing with individuals at all levels
  • Self-discipline, with a sharp sense of priorities
