Role Summary:
As part of the Integrated Communications team, the Internal Engagement Senior Officer will support the planning, development, and execution of organization-wide employee communications programs and platforms. This will include managing the day-to-day execution of internal communications efforts and coordination with teams at Pact’s HQ and global network. While this position reports to the Sen. Director of Communications, they will work very closely with the Office of the CEO and Pact’s Strategy Realization Office – where they will facilitate the execution of an organization-wide, multi-year change management and culture realization strategy currently being implemented. This will involve, but not be limited to, providing strategic direction on internal initiatives, as well as advising and counseling C-suite leaders.

Primary Responsibilities:
Internal Communications and Employee Engagement
Under the Senior Director of Integrated Communications, lead day-to-day internal communications activities to support two-way engagement with Pact staff, including:

  • Develop and execute an internal communications workplan
  • Provide communications counsel and support to senior leaders, departments directors and/or strategic initiative leads
  • Ensure the execution of the internal communication strategy is consistent, aligns with the wider global communications strategy, and reflects the organization’s strategic vision
  • Create and manage processes/protocols for internal reporting - including approvals processes, staff feedback mechanisms – that drive two-way dialogue with employees
  • Liaise with Pact HQ/Global teams to establish global staff engagement best practices
  • Ensure Pact’s Knowledge Management, HR, Risk, and other teams are sending consistent, impactful and timely communications, including via Mosaic, Pact’s intranet channel
  • Collaborate closely with and manage the execution of communications initiatives by the Pact’s C-suite and Office of the CEO
  • Provide counsel on, and develop innovative staff engagement channels and platforms
  • Develop and manage the creation of all internal communications collateral, and correspondences (including but not limited to: emails, blog posts, newsletters/quarterly update, town halls, intranet collaboration space management)

Change Management Support
Working in close collaboration with the Office of the CEO, manage the execution of change management communications to support realization of Pact’s 2021 Strategy, including:

  • Contribute to the planning and development of an overarching communications plan to advance Pact’s strategy realization efforts, and manage its operational and tactical execution
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to establish change agents and “change sponsors” among Pact teams
  • Manage the creation and integration of “change” messaging into existing and new staff engagement channels
  • Develop and manage editorial and content calendars for C-suite and change communications
  • Consult and coach strategic initiative leads on change management opportunities
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress, including indicators of adoptions, socialization, and morale

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience in an internal communications capacity, either in an agency, in-house, or as a consultant
  • Experience undertaking a change management and/or organizational repositioning processes in a large organization, and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage communications for C-suite leadership and provide high-level strategic counsel on employee engagement efforts
  • Track-record of creating and/or leveraging effective communications channels for 2-way engagement – including digital and social channels
  • Ability to clearly articulate and customize messages to a very culturally diverse and geographically dispersed workforce  
  • Flexible and adaptable; Comfortable working with ambiguous scenarios with the ability to pivot directions as needed
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization and support various stakeholders
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Familiarity working collaborating with outside consultants
  • Experience working in a global non-governmental organization a plus
  • Foreign language experience -especially French or Spanish – a plus



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the fields of communication, business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in internal communications, change management, public relations, public affairs or related roles
  • Change Management or equivalent certification a plus
