Global Citizen is a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. On our platform, Global Citizens learn about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, take action on those issues, and earn rewards for their actions — as part of a global community committed to lasting change.
So far, more than 13 million actions have been taken by Global Citizens, leading to $35 billion in commitments being made by world leaders, which are set to affect 1.7 billion lives by 2030.
About you: Global Citizen is seeking a driven, passionate and effective campaigner to coordinate Global Citizen’s US policy and advocacy campaigns, government relations, and partnerships. You are a motivated self-starter who is comfortable juggling multiple projects simultaneously and who can bring an outcome-oriented mindset to a fast-paced, multi-faceted team.
The role: As the US Policy and Government Affairs Manager for Global Citizen, you will manage all of Global Citizen’s advocacy campaigns across a range of national issues, working closely with our partners – some of the leading NGOs and campaigning organizations in the development sector, that are based in the United States, including faith-based organisations and US Government agencies.
You will be our key interface with the US government, helping to form and foster relationships with key decision makers, building on GC’s existing and significant footprint, including ahead of the 2018 Global Citizen Festival in New York.
In close collaboration with our global policy issue leads, you’ll be channeling the energy of millions of US global citizens to effective action, linking their passion to the campaigns that will make the biggest difference to breaking down the barriers that keep people poor, globally, including poor health, hunger, lack of education, poor sanitation, and gender discrimination.
Working alongside campaigners and communicators in New York, Toronto, London, and Melbourne, you’ll be accountable for ensuring that we’re delivering impactful actions for the world’s poor, a meaningful experience for global citizens, and added value to our dozens of NGO partners.
