The New York Times is looking to hire seasoned staff editors who are excited about working with people in other disciplines to find new ways of selecting and presenting beat reporting, feature writing and other signature elements of our journalism.
These editors will be part of a small corps of News Desk editors who spend a significant part of their time developing prototypes and creating content for new platforms. They will work with colleagues in Product, Design and Technology to take on ambitious new projects, from a new home screen on mobile and desktop to new push messaging experiences to off-platform briefings.
The ideal candidate must be able to work well under pressure, juggle multiple tasks and keep up with the demands of multiple editors. You should have some knowledge of HTML and CSS and an eye for design. We are looking for technical aptitude and are willing to train the right candidates.
