Position description

Would you like the opportunity to make a real impact on the future of learning and help provide quality education to the many generations to come?

Join us and lead projects that provide teachers, schools, and governments with the right knowledge to connect play and education.

Are you ready to contribute to make a vision come to life?

The LEGO Foundation shares a mission with the LEGO Group: to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow.

We are a Danish corporate foundation with a core team of dedicated employees with one shared passion: to make children’s lives better – and communities stronger – by making sure the fundamental value of play is understood, embraced and acted upon.

We are dedicated to empowering children through play to become creative, engaged, lifelong learners.

LEGO Foundation – an advocate for empowering children through knowledge

Our ambition is to ensure that all children have access to a better future through learning. You will support this by advocating for learning through play to build the right intellectual, emotional, social and creative skills amongst children to prepare them for life.

Ensure the best activities for our initiatives

You will be responsible for driving key initiatives that support our programme: Connecting Play & Education, changing the attitudes and behaviours of decision makers influencing education systems.

Focusing on advocacy/public affairs and programme/partner management, you will demonstrate the value of play to relevant stakeholders, influencing government institutions and work towards the inclusion of play in learning environments.

This entails:

  • developing and implementing programme initiatives grounded in advocacy strategies that support our ambitions and grant the right funds to the right initiatives;
  • identifying, influencing and partnering with relevant stakeholders with influence on global and regional policy agendas;
  • collaborating with the Initiative Lead, Programme Head, Communications, Excellence and Knowledge Centre on initiative plans, ensuring strong collaboration and consultation across programmes;
  • monitoring the progress of executed initiatives and communicating results to Programme Head and our Executive Board;
  • producing high quality reports, briefings, presentations and other written material for internal and external use.

Experienced project or programme manager with strong stakeholder management skills

With your exceptional diplomatic skills, you can easily identify and manage complex (internal & external) stakeholder relationships to yield optimal outcomes. You can also build strong professional relationships which engage, inspire and motivate partners to support our ambitions. Your structured nature allows you to efficiently plan and execute projects, ensuring that our resources and time are spent optimally. Lastly, you have a truly innovative spirit, and cannot help but pitch in with new ideas that push the boundaries of our work.

You bring:

  • 5+ years of international project/programme management experience within the NGO/non-profit sector, ideally in an advocacy role/team;
  • A strong track record of developing and leading strategic international partnerships;
  • Fluent communication skills in English;
  • Experience living & working overseas in both developed and developing countries;
  • A passion for making a difference in the lives of children through quality learning;
  • Ideally, also, experience working with funding and complex grants within the educational sector, although it is not a must.
