The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States, is seeking a Research Assistant to provide part-time research support to its DC-based Europe Program, for 18 hours per week.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for providing day-to-day support of the program's substantive work and research on issues related to the future of European security-particularly with regard to transatlantic relations and the changing nature of power worldwide. The candidate will also provide administrative assistance and events support.
Successful applicants will have at least a B.A. in International Relations or a similar related field and up to one year of professional work experience. Excellent academic credentials and research and writing background required. Position requires familiarity with current and enduring issues in U.S. foreign policy, European politics, and strategic issues; a proven interest in drivers of change in the global landscape; and the ability to produce well-cited and clear reports in a timely manner. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, diligence and creativity are required as well. Previous study or work experience in Europe is preferred.
