Newsweek is seeking a seasoned international editor with experience at a weekly news magazine to work on cover stories, features and shorter front-of-the-book and web pieces. Candidate should have a command of international issues and policies in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the EU, as well as a large contact list of freelancers and sources. Must have the ability to juggle strongly reported, long-form enterprise pieces with quicker news hits—including sharp analysis and opinion—and the ability to work with both seasoned and junior writers. We are looking for idea-driven stories with fresh perspectives. We want to direct and influence the international conversation, not merely repeat it. Candidate must have at least five to ten years of experience at a magazine or newspaper.
