Position description

Reporting to the Manager Strategy and Communication and cooperating closely with other staff of the Strategy and Communication section. The Strategy and Communication section is responsible for policy, stakeholder interaction, communication, innovation and TSO-DSO interaction. The main responsibility of the position is European energy policy and stakeholder interaction. The successful candidate is expected to work on a full-time basis at ENTSO-E’s Brussels-based Secretariat. Limited travel may be required.

Specific responsibilities and tasks

  • Lead the policy work in the Strategy and Communication section;
  • Provide guidance and delegation to team members on a daily basis for operational activities. Supervise the team members applying internal management and HR processes, including timesheet sign off, balanced scorecards, individual development plan, evaluation and reviews;
  • Lead on ENTSO-E’s interactions with MEPs; coordinate ENTSO-E’s engagement with the Council and in particular the rotating Council Presidencies;
  • Lead/supervise the drafting of ENTSO-E’s annual reports and annual work programs;
  • Lead the stakeholder interaction and member engagement in the Strategy and Communication section;
  • Prepare speeches and presentations for ENTSO-E office holders;
  • Contribute to various projects within the section (regional conferences, dinner debates, strategy workshops, position papers) or in a matrix organisation and contribute to the overall development of ENTSO-E as a part of the team lead community in ENTSO-E;
  • Contribute to the content development of events (webinars, conferences etc.).


  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as political science, economics, international relations or European affairs;
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience;
  • Experience and sound knowledge of the European electricity sector;
  • Project management experience;
  • Fluency in English, spoken and also flawless writing skills (business language is English) + at least one more European language;
  • Excellent communication skills, capability to influence, facilitate and animate decisions and changes;
  • Strong team player but capable of independent work to a high standard;
  • Attention to detail is essential;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Strong IT affinity (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, social media including Twitter, Yammer, LinkedIn, etc.);
  • Diplomatic skills in building consensus in a pan-European association;
  • Strong personal values in line with association’s values (excellence, trust, integrity, team and future-thinking);
  • Creativity and openness for new solutions;
  • Lifelong learning approach: willing to deepen sector specific knowledge and to embrace the digitalisation of energy;
  • Experienced in public speaking;
  • The ability to work within a multinational and multicultural professional environment.
