Position description

The main duty station will be the Country Office in Beirut, with frequent field visits to all Lebanon if the security conditions allow it. The person will report to the Desk Officer at HQ.

  • S/He will represent Cesvi with Donors, partners (including Alliance2015), stakeholders, sector working groups and coordination body and fora, and any other appropriate network aiming at raising Cesvi profile within the country;
  • S/He will contribute to and be responsible for the implementation of the strategic vision and direction of Cesvi in Lebanon in the most efficient and effective way and to secure the necessary resources to ensure its realization;
  • S/He will direct coordinate a staff of 4 people ( Project managers, Administrator, Meal officer);
  • S/He will responsible in accordance with the deadlines of the project reporting (activities planning, monthly program progress and final report of the project);
  • S/He will ensure operational excellence to achieve optimal efficiency and cost effectiveness in all functions and operations of the country office, whether quality/technical assistance, finance, material resource management, administration, information technology, audit, etc.;
  • S/He will supervise in collaboration with the Country Administrator in budgeting, forecast and control of financial flows and planning;
  • S/He will provide to processing any potential amendment or extension of the projects within the due times;
  • S/He will directly responsible of field staff recruitment and coordination;
  • S/He will write new project proposals in coordination with HQ and the field;
  • S/He will guarantee that all the activities are in line with Donors’ and Cesvi procedures and rules;
  • S/He will promote best practices;
  • S/he will be in charge of registration process in Lebanon in coordination with the Legal department;
  • S/He will assume the role of security manager.


  • University or postgraduate degree;
  • Demonstrated experience in the same position, preferably in Middle East – Northern African;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience program field management in a corporate or an NGO environment, including experience directing and implementing programs for refugees, IDPs, mix migrants preferably with solid experience in more than one of the Cesvi projects in Lebanon: livelihood, development of MSMEs – private public partnership and environment;
  • Experience of working in protracted crises;
  • Experience of building personal networks at a senior level, resulting in securing new opportunities for the organization;
  • Proven leadership and management experience with a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting, including active mentoring and coaching;
  • Solid diplomatic skills: the ability to effectively manage a variety of internal and external relationships, especially with partners;
  • Knowledge of effective financial and budgetary planning and control, review and evaluation;
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, resilient and able to work independently;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • High level of IT skills (Windows, Office package) and ability to produce timely project proposals and high quality narrative reports;
  • Fluency in English. (written and spoken).


  • Knowledge of French;
  • Knowledge of Arabic.
