Position description

RWR Advisory Group is a boutique Washington, D.C-based consulting firm that specializes in the risks present at the intersection of global business activity and national security concerns.  We specialize in research and analysis of companies emanating from Russia and China.  RWR provides open source intelligence and analytical support in this area for government and private sector clients.   RWR has a proprietary software tool, IntelTrak, that tracks and maps these global business operations.

RWR is looking to fill a junior research and analyst position that would assist with the daily tracking of business activity conducted internally as well as help draft analytic product interpreting the significance of such activity for clients.  The position will entail significant online research, writing and analysis of the relevant subject matter, which has an emphasis on Russian and Chinese entities and their global business operations.

Fluency in Mandarin is a requirement.  The successful candidate must also be a U.S. citizen and have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as economics, business, international affairs or regional studies.  A Masters degree is desired.


  • Strong writing and analytic ability.
  • Research skills and experience, with keen attention to detail and quality control.
  • An ability to work under daily deadlines.
  • Coursework or experience in matters pertaining to China, Russia.
  • An understanding of international political economy and finance.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office.
  • Russian language skills are a plus.
  • Graphic design, visual analytics, and statistical software skills are a plus.
