Position description

The Pulitzer Center is a nonprofit journalism organization dedicated to promoting in-depth engagement with global affairs through its support for quality international journalism across all media platforms and an innovative program of outreach and education.

We are a team of 20 hard-working, creative, entrepreneurial and energetic individuals dedicated to advancing our mission. We are seeking a Multimedia Coordinator to provide multimedia and audio/visual support that documents the Center’s mission, achievements, and impact for distribution on the Center’s website and via social media streams. The coordinator will create and curate sharable content that will be used to grow traffic, engage key audiences, and promote the Center’s outreach efforts.

An ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking and working on shorter projects with tight deadlines, as well as long-term video projects. She or he should be well versed in video editing and all aspects of video production as well as digital storytelling. A photography background is a plus, and the ideal candidate will also have some experience planning and staging photo installations. Audio production skills a plus.



  • Review and edit video and other multimedia from grantees and student fellows
  • Respond to queries from grantees and student fellows regarding multimedia
  • Work on Pulitzer Center video production in coordination with the education team and senior staff.
  • Produce viral-style marketing videos to be used on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and other media.
  • Teach Interns to shoot/edit “Meet the Journalists” videos
  • Critique videos from student fellows
  • Edit/screen YouTube comments

Social Media/Events

  • Plan and curate photography exhibits
  • Help coordinate and promote photographer presentations
  • Help edit and post stories for Instagram account. Coordinate journalists and student fellows posting directly to the account


  • Assist with production of flyers, brochures, and promotional materials
  • Assist with posting photography events to the website


  • Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, inDesign, Photoshop)
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • DSLR Video & Photography
  • Video Production & Editing
  • Ability to work well under deadlines
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Some local and domestic travel
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule when necessary
  • College degree

Preferred qualifications

  • Marketing and social media experience
  • Journalism and/or international affairs studies
