MedTech Europe is the European trade association representing the medical technology industries, from diagnosis to cure. They represent Diagnostics and Medical Devices manufacturers operating in Europe.


Your role in MedTech Europe

MedTech Europe, the European Trade Association representing the Medical Technology Industries seeks a Government Affairs and Public Policy Manager who is a visible and credible advocate for the industry. He/She is responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as Policy Makers, Healthcare Officials and Patient Groups, in order to stay up-to-date with EU policy and legislative developments and to engage the organisation in initiatives relevant to the Medical Technology sector. He/She works with members in developing positions and engagement strategies and driving joint advocacy strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the External Affairs (GAPP) Senior Manager;
  • Develop/maintain relationships with the EU Institutions and exchange information with policy makers about priority topics for MedTech Europe Members;
  • Build relationships with relevant stakeholders, such as Patient and Healthcare Professional Groups and other Industry Trade Associations;
  • Represent MedTech Europe externally through being a visible and credible advocate for the industry;
  • Ensure an up-to-date knowledge of the EU political landscape and assess EU initiatives relevant to the Medical Technology Sector;
  • Develop clear and concise positioning and messaging;
  • Develop and implement strategies and action plans to engage the organisation in EU legislative proposals and policies;
  • Be a point of contact for members, e.g. with the Public Affairs Committee, and moderate member discussions towards agreed objectives and positions.


  • Master's Degree in either European Studies OR Political Sciences OR (Health) Economics;
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in EU Government Affairs in either the EU institutions, Consultancies, Associations, NGOs etc.);
  • Proven solid knowledge regarding the EU Institutions and the EU Legislative Processes;
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, an additional European language is a plus point;
  • Availability to travel;
  • Experience in Health, in particular in In Vitro Diagnostics and Medical Devices is an asset;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Highly organised, able to work independently and to tight deadlines;
  • Ability to analyse policies/legislation and identify relevance for the sector;
  • Proven ability to translate complex information into clear messages;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to drive initiatives work effectively with internal (Market Access, Regulatory) & external (Members) stakeholders;
  • Proactive attitude with sense for creating synergies and win-wins;
  • Broad and strategic thinking.
