Position description

JIIP is recruiting a Junior Policy Analyst to support the work of its team.

Founded in 2012, the Joint Institute for Innovation Policy (JIIP) is a joint venture of four European Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs): Joanneum Research (JR, Austria), Tecnalia (Spain), TNO (The Netherlands) and VTT (Finland). The mission of JIIP is to provide intelligence to support policy-making, with a focus on research, innovation and technology policy. JIIP has long years of experience and strong competence in data collection, qualitative and quantitative research in economic and social fields, as well as policy evaluation and assessment activities: from ex-ante evaluations to impact assessments and ex-post evaluations and foresight, resulting in topic-specific policy advice and guidelines. Its main clients are the European Commission (DG RTD, DG CNECT, DG GROW, DG MOVE) and the European Parliament.

Tasks

You will both work with the acquisition team and support the implementation of selected projects, mainly carrying out the following tasks:

Preparation of tenders and proposals

  • preparation of administrative documents
  • presentation of the team and project references
  • contribution to drafting parts of the technical proposal

Implementation of projects

  • data collection and desk research
  • analysis and presentation of information
  • drafting reports and other deliverables
  • organisation of events
  • assisting in project management tasks
  • support to the project manager

Competencies and skills

  • Degree in European studies/ political sciences/ economics/ law
  • Knowledge of EU institutions and their functioning
  • At least 1 year experience in EU-oriented activities, preferably within a consultancy company
  • Full professional proficiency in English and one additional language.  Basic knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Familiarity with research, technology and innovation policy is desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Team player and multi-tasking
