Mission East is looking for a foundation fundraiser.

Are you an independent and driven person, who is experienced in generating funds from national and international foundations? And do you - like us - find great value in work that supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals? Are you fluent in both Danish and English? Then you could be the one we are looking for to replace our outgoing foundation fundraiser!

Your main tasks will be to:

  • Maintain and establish close relations with national and international private foundations;
  • To develop our foundation database;
  • To service our existing and future foundation partners;
  • To complement and reinforce our fundraising team capacity on projects directed at different private funding segments.

About our fundraising team:

In addition to you, we are a team of three staff members, who work to develop and implement fundraising campaigns directed at individuals, corporates, churches and organisations. In particular, we work closely with the Communications and Administrations Teams based in Copenhagen as well as our Operations Team in Brussels.

We look forward to welcome you onboard and to use your competencies to ensure funding for our relief and development projects and programmes in Nepal, Myanmar, North Korea, Iraq, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Armenia.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will hold the daily responsibility to service our existing portfolio of foundations, whilst establishing contact to new foundations. In close co-operation with our Operations Team, you will write the applications, submit them, evaluate and report externally and internally;
  • You will also be responsible for applications to Operation Dagsværk and Danmarks Indsamling.

The position is 30 hours a week, but fulltime is a possibility depending on the chosen candidate. The position requires occassional travelling.

Salary as per qualifications and experience.

International co-operation:

  • You will be closely affiliated with our Operations Team in Brussels in order to both ensure co-funding and inform detailed and accurate project descriptions. In addition you will provide assistance and support to our team in Berlin in relation to their work with German foundations.

Your profile:

You are open minded and value honesty. You are comfortable working independently and in co-operation with different teams and disciplines. You are an experienced foundation fundraiser, ideally from a similar position in a relief and development organisation. You are culturally sensitive. You are fluent in Danish as well as fluent in English.

You have:

  • A relevant education e.g. journalist. Communication, Master in Trade, International studies or similar;
  • Strong negotiation skills and an understanding for business;
  • Experience as a project manager including understanding of budgeting and financial reporting.
