Position description

We are looking for entrepreneurial sales people to join our pioneering and growing media company. POLITICO EU is seeking Business Development Associates (BDA) to join the POLITICO Brussels team. As a BDA, you will be an integral part of the New Business team that will identify, research, and contact stakeholder groups for POLITICO’s subscription offerings.

The BDA role is ideal for goal-oriented candidates looking to develop valuable sales experience. The position requires a highly organized and resilient individual who has excellent attention detail. The individual must be an excellent communicator who is adaptable and used to working within a fast-paced environment. It is essential that this person is able to use their own initiative while being a team player. A keen understanding of public affairs, government affairs, and communications is helpful.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify and contact prospective clients using both in-bound leads and prospecting strategies, including cold-calling;
  • Schedule quality visits with top-tier contacts through consistent and creative outreach;
  • Research potential clients to build a robust pipeline of prospects & identify key information to prepare Sales Executives for sales appointments;
  • Coordinate meeting logistics and prepare marketing materials;
  • Assist Sales Executives throughout the evaluation process to ensure prospective clients receive the highest quality service and have an optimal experience.

What You’ll Need:

Required qualifications:

  • 1-2 years professional experience (including internship/externship roles);
  • A university degree;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and strong client service ethic;
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Highly organized;
  • Written and verbal fluency in one other European language;
  • Performs well under pressure;
  • Able to prioritise and recognise business critical matters;
  • Ability to multi task;
  • Flexible and adaptable working style.
