The Manager, Global Export Compliance (GEC) assists the GEC team in a successful implementation of Global Trade Compliance requirements in all site functional areas (e.g. contracts, order entry, supply chain, engineering, human resources, shipping) by leading the policy and procedure implementation revision and maintenance program. They will serve a primary role in managing the deployment of best practices into FLIR procedures and work instruction documents that can be used throughout FLIR operations worldwide. They will also be responsible for assisting the Director and Senior Director of GEC in the rollout of appropriate training and revisions to such training as required by any procedural revision. This role will also serve as a primary focal point for advancing the restricted party screening, end-use/end-user management policies, and day-to-day activities associated with these important Global Trade Compliance matters at FRIR. This role will require high levels of organization, Trade Compliance experience, active engagement with GTC team members and senior leaders as well as business unit leadership where necessary. The Site Trade Compliance Operations leaders will also play a key role in the strategic planning process for procedure revisions and all the GTC functions that may impact these policies including Investigations and Audit, Corrective Actions Management, Export Controlled Data management, Traffic, Customs, Licensing, and Jurisdiction and Classification.

 

In addition to assisting in these matters, the individual will be responsible as needed to assist in the development of training materials, revisions and acting as a liaison between all other GTC functions in the coordination of deliverables for the Global Export Compliance team.

 

This role requires an individual with the highest degree of ethical business conduct and integrity, and one that demonstrates FLIR’s Core Values every day.

Requirements:

  • University degree plus minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in High Technology, Defense or Aerospace environment.
  • Strong leadership skills required. Previous program/project management experience highly desired.
  • Previous experience in a similar capacity for a high tech/defense firm with large volumes and licensing agreements.
  • Expert in ITAR and EAR regulations. Extensive experience with Customs Regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), OFAC Sanctions, Boycott Requirements, Dual Use and Multilateral Control Regimes.  
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Possesses strong organizational skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.
  • Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex compliance issues which must be documented into procedures and work instructions.
  • Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines; able to make sound and timely business decisions.
