Position description

The Project Coordinator (Intern) will assist in the implementation of the Iraq Monitoring and Evaluation Project (IMEP), in addition to other donor-funded initiatives, by executing these duties to the best of his/her abilities. The ideal candidate is available for at least one calendar year.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1.) Monitoring and Evaluation (Primary role)

a.    Assist the Project Coordinator in writing and formatting evaluation reports for a robust portfolio of international donors; draft comprehensive site visit reports for projects in the health, child protection, education, WASH, and other sectors;

b.    Receive feedback on reports and adjust the reports as necessary;

c.    Communicate with Field Monitors to clarify details of site visits and solicit additional feedback from implementing partners.

2.) Business Development (Secondary role)

a.    Assist 4points in acquiring new projects through coordination of meetings with international donors in and around Erbil;

b.    Manage logistics for acquisition of new projects and clients, including processing of contract agreements and related documents;

c.    Assist in drafting proposals and concept notes for prospective clients and manage project profiles;

d.    Serve as company liaison to 4points’ Baghdad-based clients, maintaining weekly communication and addressing clients’ concerns as needed.

3.) Additional duties (programmatic and administrative) as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in International Relations, International Development, or related field;
  • Native English fluency, as writing and editing are a key component of the job;
  • Knowledge of the Middle East and/or Iraq preferred, including time spent living, studying, and/or working in the MENA region;
  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to multicultural and multilingual workplaces;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, establish and maintain good relationships with clients and donors;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Working knowledge of Arabic and/or Kurdish appreciated but not required. Knowledge of other languages that use the Arabic script such as Persian or Urdu is also a benefit;
  • Strong IT Skills in MS Office, specifically MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Finalist candidates should expect to complete a brief 30-minute writing test, administered remotely.

Benefits and compensation include:

  • $1000 USD monthly stipend
  • Housing at a shared apartment within walking distance of our office as well as associated costs (electricity, internet, etc.) will be covered by 4points
  • Round trip airfare at the beginning and end of your contract will be covered
  • Visa costs and the process of obtaining your residency permit after arrival in the Kurdistan region will be taken care of by 4points. You still must be able to obtain visa on arrival in Kurdistan.
