Position description

The GenderPro Capacity Building Program ia a first-of-its-kind course designed to educate international development professionals on the best approaches to improve the lives of women and girls around the world. The course consists of about 30 hours of facilitated online learning over 14 weeks, an applied practicum focused on a work deliverable, and a one-week residential course in Washington, D.C. Each participant will select one of two sector-specific tracks — Public Health or Social Development. The total cost of the course is $4500 ($2000 for the online portion, and $2500 for the one week in residence which does not include the cost of travel and lodging). Payment will be due after acceptance to the course, but before the course begins.

 

Participants in this applied program will learn to:

  • Conduct a gender analysis of development projects within different country contexts
  • Integrate gender-responsive strategies and interventions
  • Create specific solutions for integrating gender into development programs
  • Work with relvant stakeholders for sustainable results

 

Participants select a sector-specific track (Public Health or Social Development). Participants will learn core concepts within the context of this sector. Core content received by all participants includes:

  • Gender Analysis

  • Gender-integrated Program Design and Implementation 

  • Monitoring and Reporting on gender-integrated programs

  • Advocacy for gender-integrated programming

 

Both core and sector content draws on resources, case studies and exercises that are relevant to both practitioners and policymakers. 

Cross-cutting issues, such as violence againist women and girls (VAWG), humanitarian assistance, and ethics in research and practice, will be addressed throughout the program.
