The British Consulate-General in Atlanta represents UK interests in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee in such areas as trade and investment, science and innovation, supporting British people in difficulty, and press and public affairs. The Press & Public Affairs Officer will support the Head of Political, Press, and Public Affairs (PPPA) in implementing a high impact communications strategy to support the work of all teams at the Consulate.
The PPA Officer will also develop and deliver high impact projects, events and visit programmes including associated administration and budget management. The British Consulate Atlanta PPA team is part of the British Government’s US network led by the Embassy in Washington DC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under US State Department requirements, the Embassy may only employ, as non-diplomatic staff, persons who are US citizens, US Green Card holders or A or NATO visa holders with EAD cards*. If you hold a visa other than an A or NATO visa you are not currently eligible to work at the Embassy. *A visas or NATO visas with EAD cards are acceptable at the Embassy, Consulates, and British Defence Staff (BDS) outposts.
