We are hiring for positions under the Global Health Training, Advisory, Support Contract (GHTASC) in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Global Health (GH). These roles deliver institutional support services in a wide range of technical areas at the junior, mid-, senior, and expert levels.

 

The Francophone Entomologist will be a member of the Malaria Division within the Office of Infectious Disease. They will be assigned to the Vector Monitoring and Control Team (VMCT), which has primary responsibility for providing technical and programmatic expertise to PMI’s 30 partner countries. The Francophone Entomologist will provide entomological support to USAID at headquarters, missions and PMI country teams, technical counterparts, implementing partners, ministries of health, and USAID cooperating agencies. S/he will work with other technical experts within the VMCT at both USAID and CDC.

Qualifications

*Master’s degree and 6 years, Bachelor’s and 10 year, Associate’s and 12 years, or high school and 14 years of relevant experience in entomology, vector control, public health, or a related field;
*Experience in the area of vector monitoring and control in low and middle income country settings and experience providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership in low and middle income countries;
*Experience in entomologic data analysis and interpretation;
*Knowledge of public health development programs and global malaria priorities is desirable;
*Demonstrated project management and problem solving expertise;
*Flexibility and openness in responding to changing work priorities and environment;
*Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment in planning and carrying out tasks, in resolving problems and conflicts, and in taking steps necessary to meet deadlines;
*Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to a wide range of audiences in English and French
*Proficiency in Google and Microsoft suite of programs;
*Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time; and
*US citizenship or US permanent residency and ability to obtain at a minimum a facility access clearance
