ICANN and its vibrant community coordinates the Internet’s unique identifier systems in order to ensure a global, stable and secure Internet. ICANN was established in 1998 as a not-for-profit, public-benefit corporation with participants from all over the world dedicated to its global public interest mission. ICANN performs the key technical and operational role of ensuring that the Internet's unique identifier systems are secure, stable and resilient. ICANN uses a unique, bottom-up, volunteer-driven multistakeholder model to facilitate community development of policies for the management of unique identifiers.

 

ICANN’s mission impacts every country across every continent and requires engaging with a global community of actively participating stakeholders representing governments, businesses, academia, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and individuals - all of whom are dedicated to this global public interest mission.

 

The Head of Government & Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) Engagement is responsible for leading ICANN’s global government and IGO engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. This leader will develop, adapt and execute the overall function's strategy to achieve key government engagement objectives, ensuring alignment with ICANN’s mission.

 

The Head of Government & IGO Engagement will be a dynamic, proactive and strategic leader with expertise on global trends and government affairs. They will be a strategic leader with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead a geographically dispersed team, and the foresight to identify key bilateral and multilateral opportunities. The Head of Government & IGO Engagement should have extensive experience in international diplomacy or government affairs, with demonstrated skill in building relationships and influencing high-level stakeholders.
