The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is offering paid traineeships in 2025, open to recent graduates and young professionals from around the world. As a globally recognized development agency, GIZ works in over 120 countries on behalf of the German government and other international partners. Trainees will support GIZ teams in various areas depending on project and departmental needs. Tasks may include:

  • Assisting in the coordination and implementation of development projects
  • Supporting research, data analysis, and field studies
  • Drafting reports, policy briefs, and presentations
  • Participating in internal and external meetings with stakeholders
  • Supporting communications and outreach campaigns
  • Helping with budgeting, administrative planning, and logistical support

Qualifications

Education and Certification:

To be eligible for the GIZ Traineeship Programme, applicants must have:

  • completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as:
    • International Relations
    • Development Studies
    • Political Science
    • Economics
    • Public Administration
    • Environmental Science
    • Engineering
    • IT or Data Science
    • Open to individuals with 0–2 years of professional experience
