Whether creating new processes or communicating requirements, our clients need a advisor who can help develop innovative solutions and interact with counterparts in other federal agencies.   That is why we need you, an experienced International Affairs Action Officer who can provide strategic support and our client’s leadership on issues relating to international affairs, international partnerships, and breakthrough health technologies.  

 

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. Work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. Leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior ARPA-H decision makers. Maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the commercialization of successfully developed technologies. 

 

You'll serve as an International Affairs Action Officer as part of an exciting team to provide high-level operational and executive support in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Above all, you have a deep commitment to advance international health and biomedical research. You will help clients to understand issues related to policy and regulation, optimally leverage leadership time, support the broader team, and successfully serve the Agency’s mission. You will provide support to senior leaders, serve as a point of contact for the office and other agency offices, manage incoming requirements, clearly communicate tasks, and track metrics. You will be readily available to shift your focus to fulfill emerging requests and special projects.

 

What You’ll Work On:

  • Provide strategic guidance and serve as a thought partner to office leadership to streamline processes, anticipate and mitigate blockers, and support goal-setting, operational planning, efficient execution, and external messaging and communications

  • Coordinate efforts among the team to track division-level assignments, actions, and milestones and report on OKRs and other performance metrics and advise and coordinate with the Division Director and DIA teammates to reach goals

  • Coordinate support for senior leadership engagement in various client activities, including industry events, HHS matters, and international partner community, as well as ecosystem trips and other events

  • Track important international and US government developments and synthesize implications for office and agency efforts

  • Work closely with other Action Officers to support the international agenda of the agency so the agency is well-organized, prepared, and informed for meetings and other engagements, including handling, responding, collaborating, and communicating with a broad range of requests from inside and outside the agency

  • Interact with other U.S. government officials, foreign government officials, international partners, academics, the private sector, and other executives in various sectors

  • Research international health industry trends in technology, investments, and innovation, and share with the team

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff or Action Officer to an organizational principal or senior leader

  • 2+ years of experience with international relations and engagements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience engaging with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15 equivalent

  • Experience in strategic planning, optimizing operations, and solving complex problems to achieve organizational goals

  • Ability to conduct research, analyze data, set organizational priorities, and generate actionable insights to inform strategic decisions

  • Ability to coordinate team efforts, track progress, and advise on strategies to achieve organizational goals

  • Bachelor’s degree

 

 

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience engaging a broad range of stakeholders, including U.S. and foreign government officials, international partners, and private sector executives

  • Experience in a leadership support office in a government environment or an ARPA organization

  • Experience supporting U.S. DoD advanced development programs, R&D, or start-up organizations

  • Experience with U.S. or international government or nongovernment health organizations

  • Ability to be well-organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines

  • Possession of strong communication skills

  • Master’s degree in Health, Management, or International Relations

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
