The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom offers political education programmes in Germany and in over 60 countries worldwide. The European Regional Office, with the FNF Europe project, is located in Brussels. FNF Europe is the innovation platform for a liberal Europe.
We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to strengthen our 11-member team in Brussels as soon as possible as Finance & HR Administrator (m/f/d) (Full-time – 38 hours/week).
Your core activity will be the largely independent processing of financial and human resources administrative procedures in our Foundation's Brussels office.
Responsibilities
- Advising the FNF Europe team and project partners on financial matters in accordance with the funding guidelines of German donors and internal foundation regulations;
- Preparation of rough and detailed budget planning and supplementary contributions to annual financial statements;
- Verification of all expenses for compliance with funding guidelines and payment of invoices via online banking;
- Cash management and creation/monitoring of online inventory directories and permanent files;
- Settlement of all expenses via the online booking system BC17, including document preparation and digitalization;
- Ensuring the completeness and up-to-dateness of project files based on applicable retention periods;
- Evaluation of internal and external audit reports and monitoring of compliance with established annual deadlines;
- Personnel administration in cooperation with our social secretariat.
Qualifications
- You possess proven knowledge in the financial and human resources administrative field;
- You have experience in managing public funds; experience with German public funds is an advantage;
- You have a strong affinity for accounting software programmes;
- You are proficient in common MS Office applications, especially Excel;
- You have C1 level English skills; good German skills are an advantage. French or Dutch skills will also be helpful in your area of responsibility with us;
- Proactivity, reliability, and conscientiousness are your strengths.

Please note that the Foundation's employment contracts in international project work are initially fixed-term, but we are interested in long-term cooperation. Employment for this position is based on a Belgian employment contract.
