Research Associate Fellows will be expected to:
- Collaborate with faculty members and research teams on empirical research projects related to public sector performance, civic engagement, and public service delivery.
- Assist in the design and implementation of field experiments in partnership with government agencies.
- Analyze large datasets using statistical software and contribute to data visualization and policy briefs.
- Co-author working papers and academic publications.
- Present findings at academic conferences, policy convenings, and internal lab meetings.
- Support ongoing collaboration with external partners, including government officials and nonprofit organizations.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in public policy, economics, political science, statistics, or a related field is required.
- Additional coursework or certification in data science, RCTs (randomized controlled trials), or public administration is highly desirable.
Experience
- Experience in applied research, including internships or professional roles in government, academia, think tanks, or nonprofit organizations.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, R, or Python.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong writing and organizational skills.
- Experience working with diverse teams and community-based organizations is a plus.
