Position description

The European Policy Centre is a not-for-profit, independent think tank that works on many different policy areas with the ultimate goal of supporting European integration. We are looking for a dedicated person to help us as an Events Assistant (equivalent to a paid internship) to join the Events and Communication Team for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extending the contract to 1 year.

The Events Assistant will support the Events Executive in ensuring the smooth running of the EPC’s intensive programme of events, with tasks ranging from managing visitors to catering to hybrid technologies.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Excellent organisational skills and an eye for details
  • Interest in European affairs
  • Good communications and social skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadline
  • Competent use of MS Office suite, some experience of working with databases would be a plus
  • Fluency in English and competent in French (other languages are a plus)
  • A commitment to the EPC’s values and mission

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Setting up the meeting rooms before events, including audio-visual equipment
  • Preparation of the signage and the nameplates
  • Welcoming and registering participants at the registration desk
  • Being on-site during events and ensuring their smooth running
  • Ordering of event supplies and stock management
  • Liaising with external service suppliers (catering, venues, travel agencies)

Additional Information

  • Starting date: September 2025
  • Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension of 6 months
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday (09.00 to 17.45) and Friday (09.00 to 17.00)
  • Contract: La convention d'immersion professionnelle (CIP), stipend of 1,175 Euros per month
