Religions for Peace is the world's largest and most representative multi-religious coalition with over 90 national and 6 regional Interreligious Councils (IRCs), together with Women of Faith Networks and Interfaith Youth Networks at a local, national, regional and global levels. Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Media and Communications Manager to enhance our organisational presence and effectively communicate our mission. The ideal candidate will be adept at developing and implementing strategic communications plans, managing digital content, and crafting compelling narratives to engage our diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communications Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies to build awareness and support for Religions for Peace’s mission and initiatives across various audiences.
- Social Media Management:
- Define and implement social media strategies to expand our reach and engagement, including content creation, scheduling, and analytics.
- Website Management:
- Oversee the organisation's website, ensuring it reflects our evolving work. Collaborate with departments to keep content current and relevant.
- Content Creation and Campaign Execution:
- Create and manage multi-channel appeals, newsletters, and social media campaigns that effectively amplify Religions for Peace’s storytelling and impact.
- Internal Communications:
- Partner with senior staff to develop and sustain a cohesive organisational branding strategy, including style guides and communication strategies.
- Design and produce internal communication materials (e.g., presentations, brochures, flyers) that align with our organisational culture and values.
- Storytelling and Impact Communication:
- Work closely with the Programmes team to collect stories, testimonials, and data that showcase our impact and success.
- Support for Senior Leadership:
- Assist the Office of the Secretary General by preparing talking points, speeches, and presentations for various engagements.
- Additional Support:
- Contribute to additional projects, tasks, and campaigns as needed to support organisational goals.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in communications, media, or public relations, preferably within a non-profit or interfaith context.
- Creative and strategic thinker with a track record of generating innovative ideas and taking initiative.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into engaging content.
- Proficiency in visual communication tools and design software (e.g., Canva).
- Strong understanding of digital communications and social media platforms, including content creation and analytics.
- Experience managing and updating website content using WordPress.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective communication systems and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural and international environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships.
- Ability to multitask to ensure timely and efficient delivery in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines within a small team.
Salary range: $110,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.
