Position Summary:

As a Manager of Tech Policy, you will work on policy and regulatory developments in Europe, with a focus on cybersecurity and privacy, as well as platform and content moderation policy issues relevant to the tech industry. You will be a dynamic public policy professional with an excellent understanding of the EU policy context (including but not limited to tech), and deep understanding of the key policy issues affecting the tech industry at both EU and national levels.

You will contribute to ITI’s work in Europe and globally with planning, organization and execution of all programs and activities within your portfolio, such as drafting of submissions and papers, supporting communications activities, meetings and events preparation, in cooperation with the rest of the EU team and other global teams.

You are a self-starter, a creative thinker and collaborative colleague who, consistent with the companies we represent, seeks positive and innovative ways to achieve both the industry’s policy objectives and governments’ public policy goals.

You will work closely with the rest of ITI’s EU team based in Brussels as well as the global policy team in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

      • Drafting policy positions, submissions, briefings on policy issues within your portfolio, and support the global policy team on the same set of issues in other regions as needed;
      • Analyzing relevant policy and regulatory developments at EU level, and to a lesser extent at Member State level, on issues that impact members, and communicating effectively with members on the significance of such developments;
      • Presenting ITI’s views in external-facing meetings with policymakers and at events;
      • Contributing to the organization of ITI’s Committee meetings with members;
      • With the support of the ITI’s Director General for Europe, you will develop strategic and tactical approaches to policy and regulatory issues you are responsible for;
      • Identifying, developing and implementing ways to improve internal processes and providing general support as needed;
      • Working closely and coordinating with the rest of the EU team in the Brussels office and with colleagues from other teams in Washington, DC; supervising the activities of a Fellow; and acting as a resourc

Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in public administration, public policy, political science, law, business, or a related field;
      • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience. Experience in interacting with EU institutions is a must;
      • Full professional proficiency in English and another European language;
      • Deep understanding of EU public policy issues, ability to work independently and collaboratively and to engage team members to facilitate successful results.
