Position description

About the role:

The Policy Intern will support the FIA Region I policy team on digitalisation, safety, and sustainability issues. Under the supervision of the Policy Director, the intern will:

      • Conduct research and draft web content on a wide range of issues;
      • Contribute to FIA Region I’s weekly newsletter;
      • Monitor EU hearings, legislative activities, and technical briefings, and report findings to staff (verbally or in writing);
      • Assist in monitoring policy and legislative reports;
      • Support the organisation of internal meetings and policy events (outreach, logistics, follow-up);
      • Identify, track, and report on relevant policy and technical developments;
      • Help update and maintain internal websites and policy-monitoring tools;
      • Provide policy-related administrative support as needed.

Who we are looking for:

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s student in progress, ideally in transport/mobility policy, automotive/technical studies, European/public policy, or a related field (other fields considered if supported by relevant skills/experience);
      • Strong interest in transport and mobility issues, and motivation to communicate relevant insights to members, policymakers, and stakeholders;
      • Excellent research and English writing skills (concise, clear and accurate);
      • Detail-oriented and organised;
      • Self-starter, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks in parallel;
      • Open to feedback, with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally;
      • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills;
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
      • Currently enrolled at a European higher education institution and able to provide a valid learning/internship agreement;
      • Eligible to work legally in Belgium.
