Position description

Global Conservation is seeking a Director of Global Development, preferably based in San Francisco, Los Angeles or New York, with 10-15+ years of experience in raising large funding for international nature conservation.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Global Development will have primary responsibility for success of the Global Parks Fund, a new $100 million philanthropic investment in protection of the world’s most endangered national parks in developing countries.

Primary objectives include:

through the Global Parks Fund.

fundraising and development activities.

for developing key external funding and alliances cultivating individual, family and

foundation philanthropic support, through the solicitation of major gifts, GC Trips,

special events, and corporate and foundation support.

other team members to secure funding for new initiatives. In addition, the Director willwork closely with the board of directors and support board members as they take on a

more active fundraising role.

develop and implement a comprehensive GC Project and Global Development strategy

to include corporate, foundation, government grants, etc.

proposals; write and archive all proposals with a long-term relationship-management

approach and oversee research funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help

position Global Conservation ahead of other competitors, major funding changes and

trends.

statistical analysis to board and senior leaders and develop and implement a

stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with major donors.

Salary: Based on Experience $120-150,000 per year

Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week; 160 hours per month

Medical Insurance: Up to $800 per month reimbursed

Office Rent Subsidy: Up to $1,000 per month reimbursed

Vacation: 4 Weeks paid per year

Business Expenses: All reimbursed within 7 days of Invoice Report

The Director will uphold the highest standards of conservation ethics and professional excellence representing the Company in all occasions and communications. The Director will be bound by the GC Confidentiality Agreement.
