Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) is the global organization’s presence in the United States. We engage people in the U.S. to fight injustice all around the world, while we also work to protect people’s human rights here in the U.S. Amnesty International USA has more than one million members and activists in all 50 states, who are part of a larger global movement of 10 million people in 150 countries. Our members are experts on specific human rights issues, regions of the world, or advocacy issues, and they serve as volunteer leaders. Others are volunteer leaders of member groups in cities, universities, states, or regions of the country. We are a democratically governed, grassroots membership organization, which means that our members vote on key policy issues and elect our Board of Directors. Amnesty International USA’s elected Board members, staff, and members work together to lead the organization.

NOTE: This role requires a June 15, 2026 start date.

Job Summary

AIUSA’s Movement Building and Member Engagement Department (MBME) brings together grassroots members, activists, and leaders, and incorporates technology through distributed leadership to create lasting change. AIUSA works through grassroots development and leadership, partnership and coalition building, education and training, data analysis, and storytelling to build our movement for human rights domestically, connected to the international movement for human rights. Movement building is the key for sustainable change for the human rights movement, and AIUSA seeks leaders who can activate and collaborate with grassroots leaders who can play their part to create lasting change. Shared leadership is the process by which AIUSA volunteer leaders and staff together guide AIUSA. Our shared leadership guidelines encompass core principles, values, accountability, and communication, along with core principles that serve as the foundation to support AIUSA’s human rights work.

The Manager, Resource and Training (“Manager”) works to build, strengthen and support Amnesty International USA's Youth and Student Program (Y&SP). The Youth and Student Program provides young people with the opportunity to engage in human rights education, advocacy and organizing in their communities across the United States.

This role is a union position and covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), Local 1180.
