Latin America and the Caribbean - Intern

Position description

The Latin America and the Caribbean Program of International Crisis Group is seeking a full-time volunteer intern to support the Program. This volunteer internship would suit undergraduate or postgraduate students, who can volunteer for three to six months. We are currently looking for a volunteer intern able to start in September 2026.

The internship position will only be available to students who are enrolled in an academic program and able to integrate the internship into their curriculum for credit; or students who have secured external funding (e.g. grants or scholarships) to support their participation.

Responsibilities:

The volunteer intern will provide assistance with:

• Basic research on social and political data.

• Draft situation reports.

• Production of daily press dossier.

• Maintaining contacts database.

• Other administrative work as required.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate/post-graduate studies social or political sciences

• Excellent verbal and written command of English and Spanish. Knowledge of French or Portuguese is welcome.

• Good knowledge of the Latin American and the Caribbean region.

• Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet.

• Candidates must be highly motivated and responsible.

• Crisis Group Internships are unpaid.

Pasantía voluntaria en el programa para América Latina

El programa para América Latina y el Caribe de International Crisis Group ha abierto convocatoria de pasantía voluntaria de tiempo completo para estudiantes de pregrado o posgrado. La pasantía puede durar de tres a seis meses. Actualmente buscamos candidatos que puedan empezar en septiembre de 2026. Crisis Group solo puede ofrecer la pasantía a candidatos que puedan solicitar créditos académicos en sus universidades.

Responsabilidades:

El pasante brindará apoyo en:

• Investigación básica sobre datos sociales y políticos.

• Elaboración de informes de situación.

• Preparación del dossier de prensa diario.

• Actualización de la base de contactos.

• Labores administrativas.

Los candidatos deben ser flexibles y estar dispuestos a realizar una gran variedad de tareas y brindar apoyo a otros analistas del programa.

Qualifications

• Título de pregrado o posgrado en ciencias sociales o políticas.

• Excelente manejo oral y escrito de inglés y español. Conocimientos de francés o portugués son bienvenidos.

• Buen conocimiento de la región de América Latina y el Caribe

• Habilidades en Microsoft Office e internet.

• Los candidatos deben tener un alto nivel de motivación y responsabilidad.

• Las pasantías en Crisis Group no son pagadas.
