LEO Lecturer I - Iranian Revolution

Position description

The Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor invites applications for a part-time (33.33%) lecturer position to teach a course on the Iranian Revolution for the Winter 2027 term. This appointment is scheduled to begin on January 11, 2027 and end on April 30, 2027.

Responsibilities*

Duties of this lecturer I position are expected to include teaching, designing a course syllabus, developing course materials, leading recitation sections, evaluating and grading students, and holding regularly scheduled office hours. A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a lecturer I in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three courses per semester.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants should have a Terminal degree, such as a Phd or MFA, in Literature or another humanities department. Experience teaching Iranian history and culture courses at the post-secondary level is preferred.

This appointment is subject to final approval.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
