The Department of Government at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track position in Comparative Politics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The search is open to scholars working in Africa and Asia with particular preference for those working in South Asia.
Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service to the Department, the College of Liberal Arts, and the University, including teaching in the Core Curriculum (particularly "World Politics and Cultures" and/or "Principles of American Politics").

Qualifications
Applicants must have completed all the requirements for the Ph. D. by the time of appointment or expect to obtain the Ph. D. within a year of joining the faculty as Instructor. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of research and a trajectory that shows or promises teaching excellence.
