Position description
We are looking for a “Environment & Sustainability” trainee/intern for a 5 months period starting in December 2026 until April 2027.
Main tasks:
Support the work of the EDA environment and sustainability policy area:
- Help in monitoring, analysing and evaluating the impact of legislative developments at the EU level, including on sustainable food systems, climate legislation, Emissions Trading System (ETS) and carbon markets, decarbonisation, and livestock policies;
- Provide substantive input to and assist in drafting EDA position papers, reports and other publications on environment and sustainability topics;
- Participation in meetings and conferences;
- Support in managing relations with EDA members and external contacts;
- Additional support of the department or office (related topics, administrative and internal processes).
Qualifications
Profile:
- A strong interest in environmental sustainability and the agri-food sector;
- A master’s student in a relevant field (environment/environmental law/agriculture/sustainability/European affairs);
- Knowledge of the EU policy making process and experience/interest in EU environmental and climate law would be appreciated;
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English is a prerequisite, proficiency in French and/or other European languages would be an advantage;
- Flexible and dynamic team player; capacity to prioritise and proactivity.
