Position description
Are you a bold, strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of advocacy, policy, and coalition-building? Are you invested in global public finance? Do you believe that we’re stronger when we invest in shared global challenges together?
If so, then this position is for you!
The Global Public Investment Network (GPIN) is dedicated to bringing communities and countries together to build a future that is safe, fair and sustainable for everyone. Through advocacy, research and policy engagement, GPIN works to transform the way the world mobilizes and governs international investments, championing a system where all countries contribute to, decide on, and benefit from shared global resources. Rooted in these principles of All Benefit, All Contribute, All Decide, GPIN emphasizes shared responsibility, inclusive decision-making, and equitable outcomes, bringing together a global network of advocates, researchers, and policymakers working to build momentum for a fairer, more effective system of global public investment.
GPIN currently achieves its goal through two interconnected pillars: the Coalition of Governments on global public investment (https://gpigovernments.org/), a government-led platform that brings together pioneering countries to advance global public investment through shared contributions, collective decision-making, and equitable benefit-sharing; and the GPI Campaign (https://globalpublicinvestment.net/) which unites civil society, academic institutions, and advocates to build the broader movement for a fairer international finance system.
Today, GPIN stands at a defining moment. With growing political momentum, an expanding membership, and increasing recognition of global public investment as a viable framework for international development cooperation, GPIN is advancing from an idea to action. Over the next two years, the focus will be on translating this momentum into concrete policy change, deepening engagement with governments and key institutions, and building the evidence base for transformative funding mechanisms ahead of its 2030 target. We are looking for an Executive Director (ED) to lead and drive this agenda through strategic direction and executive leadership, supported by the Secretariat. The ED will report directly to the Chairperson of the GPIN Steering Committee and shall initially be contracted on a fixed term basis for a period of 24 months. This is envisaged as a long-term role and, subject to funding and performance, renewal beyond the initial contract period is anticipated.
