Position description

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary-General (DSG), the Communications Officer will be a key member of the PGA team with responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the impact of PGA Campaigns and clearly communicate the organization’s vision, mission, values, goals, and achievements to a variety of audiences on several platforms (print and digital). Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing communication strategies and campaigns in collaboration with program staff.
  • Writing and editing press releases, website stories, speeches, reports, and other content.
  • Designing and producing print, digital, and multimedia materials.
  • Managing content on the organization's website, social media accounts, and online reputation; ensuring all content complies with the organization’s standards and style guides.
  • Coordinating with media outlets, journalists, influencers, and relevant stakeholders. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication activities.;
  • Providing advice and guidance to senior management and program staff on communication issues.


  • Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism or related field.
  • At least three years’ experience in communications field; knowledge of international affairs is preferable.
  • Commitment to human rights, including of vulnerable and marginalized populations.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese or other languages is an asset.
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering strategic communications through a variety of media, including print and digital.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.

Creative, innovative thinker with attention to detail and  ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.

Proficiency with the use of design software and products, such as Canva, Photoshop, etc. is an asset.

Annual salary range: $70,000 - $80,000. Benefits include full medical and dental insurance, hybrid workplace (2-3 days a week in the office), retirement plan, paid vacation and holidays.
