Position description

EPD looking for a dynamic and motivated new team member to boost our communications work for 6 months, starting as soon as possible. EPD is a small organisation and interns are fully involved in all aspects of our work; they are part of an international team that supports them in acquiring skills to work in an international organisation and hands-on knowledge of how major international actors inter-relate, at EU and global levels. While some tasks come with the position of communications intern, we try to adapt the work to the individual's interests as much as possible.

The communications intern is responsible for a variety of tasks, including the daily social media and website management, a weekly newsletter on democratic developments around the world, research on topics related to EPD’s activities, internal communications within the network, assistance in event organisation, report writing and attending relevant EU meetings.


  • Recent graduate or young professional with strong interest and sound knowledge of EU external policies, ideally in the field of democracy support;
  • Previous experience in website and blog development is an asset (especially Wordpress);
  • An excellent command of English; knowledge of Portuguese or French is an asset;
  • Motivation to learn and contribute to EPD’s work.
