This exciting role, at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), is an opportunity for an experienced manager and EU policy expert, based in Brussels, to join a dynamic and fast-paced team that engages with senior business leaders and European policy makers to unlock new climate change policies and support the transition to a sustainable economy.
CISL’s Policy Team works at EU, member state and international levels to deliver influential projects that include The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group (CLG), the EU Green Growth Platform and a planned international expansion of the work. The team has an excellent track record of high-level EU engagement but is looking to deepen this work and ensure it is substantively based out of our Brussels office.
In order to do this the team is looking for a new Programme Director to anchor, develop and build the work of the Brussels office. Reporting to the Policy Director, the EU Office Programme Director will manage a small team to deliver an ambitious programme of engagement between businesses and MEPs, Ministers, policy makers, Commissioners and academics. The Programme Director will be looking for new areas of interest to engage in, develop relationships with key funding organisations and work with the Policy Director to refine and focus the policy team’s work to ensure they are adding value to European policy discussions. In addition, an expanding international remit will add responsibilities to the portfolio.
We are looking for an individual who has a deep knowledge and experience of the Brussels political scene and decision making process, in addition to a track record of successful engagement with senior executives and government officials and good management experience.

The role is based in Brussels but will require travel, including regular visits to the UK.
Salary: in the range of €105,000 - €120,000.
