Position description

Key Functions

  • Provide administrative, logistical, and programmatic support to programs as needed, possibly to include Congressional Staff Delegations, U.S. Foreign Policy Colloquium, CHINA Town Hall, Track II Dialogues, Young China Professionals, Military programs, etc.
  • Assist with onsite coordination at larger programs, events and meetings as needed
  • Report to program staff and the Vice President

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to multiple programs throughout the year
  • Conduct research for effective program implementation
  • Organize travel and logistics for programs
  • Set up and manage registration systems and invitations for events and programs
  • Organize and prepare electronic and printed materials for programs
  • Assist program staff in maintaining program budgets and securing price estimates
  • Coordinate program participant expense reimbursements and invoicing
  • Assist with onsite coordination at public programs, events and meetings as needed
  • Assist with large mailings
  • Update Salesforce database with program contacts

Qualifications

  • Highly organized, detailed oriented, and strong time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with potential for some evening and weekend work
  • One to two years’ work experience (internships apply)
  • Broad-based knowledge of China
  • Good writing/editing skills
  • Experience living/working in China preferred
  • Professionally proficient in Mandarin preferred
  • B.A. required
  • U.S. citizenship or work authorization required
