The PwC Public Sector Open Source Team seeks researchers, investigators, and intelligence analysts with a passion for helping clients across a wide range of concerns. We help clients identify risks through the focused collection of information from open sources, social media, public records, and syndicated databases, with targeted analysis based on relevant risk issues customized to provide clients with actionable information to assist in critical decisions.

The Open Source Team works with our clients to strategically prepare for and manage the complex environments in which they operate, and the evolving threat landscape they face by providing insights to assist in risk management and mitigation. Our approach enables our clients to anticipate, manage, and become "threat-smart" on areas such as supply chain illumination and other sensitive issues often related to national security.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations/Affairs/Studies, Regional Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, Government, Business, Accounting, Economics, Operations Research, History, Cyber, or a Data/Information Technology field.

Degree preferred: Master’s degree

Certifications Preferred: AML, CFE, APICS, ASIS (CPP, PSP, PCI), SCIP, Licensed Private Investigator, or willing and able to obtain Private Investigator license; Intelligence analysis training and experience from a US Government or highly respected commercial organization.

Skills Required: 

  • Demonstrated ability to read, skim, comprehend, and analyze open source documents, media articles, legal records, and regulatory filings and summarize key findings in support of reputational and integrity due diligence activities.
  • Familiarity with open source and social media syndicated and subscription based databases such as Dow Jones, Thompson Reuters and similar tools and databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous research in a range of sources and investigative databases, analyze large volumes of information, weave together disparate data, and draft reports and written, visual, and oral presentations with insights, assessments, and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and meet deadlines while working independently and in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a flexible work style and schedule to meet client demands.
  • Personal and professional integrity to leverage open sources and social media and strictly adhere to restrictions and necessary discretion.

 Knowledge Preferred:

  • A working knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Investigations,
    • Commercial due diligence,
    • Business intelligence,
    • Supply chain risks,
    • Political, economic, business, & regulatory environments and trends,
    • Financial due diligence,
    • Cybersecurity and cyber threat intelligence
  • Demonstrated ability to research, think analytically, and apply good judgment to identify information and other data, dynamics, and complex business structures and the risks associated with them based on client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to create impactful reporting/presentation of findings with Microsoft Office Suite or other software.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to manage tasks according to strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to write, communicate, facilitate, and present to all levels of clients and internal staff and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others to complete tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships

Demonstrated ability to work discreetly and well with others on sensitive projects.
