Position description

This is a limited term position for 1 year. This is a part time position working 17.5 hours per week.

The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy is the United States’ first professional graduate school of international affairs. Since 1933 Fletcher’s multi-disciplinary education in international relations, law, and business, has prepared the world’s leaders to become innovative problem-solvers in government, private sector, and non-governmental organizations. The Fletcher School seeks to fulfill its mission in the most environmentally sensible way possible.

The program in cyber security and policy is a joint effort between Tufts’ Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and its School of Engineering. The program involves students and faculty from disciplines across the campus, including computer science, political science, law, security studies, international relations, and other fields. 

Provides specialized, subject matter knowledge to develop, implement, review and evaluate a university Program or Project in collaboration with Manager or Director. Participates in development of goals and strategies; creates data management and filing systems; develops, analyzes and monitors budgets, grants and contracts; and participates in development and implements marketing and advertising efforts including writing content for website and social media material. May design and represent program externally at conferences, meetings and events. Conducts research and drafts reports and results. May oversee recruitment and management of study subjects. May provide advice and counseling to students. Coordinates hiring and training of staff, students and temporary help. This is a half-time, one-year, limited appointment.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree and 1-2 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a student summer fellowship program, managing a student paper symposium, managing development work related to a center and/or master’s program in cyber security and policy, and helping to make arrangements for talks and symposia in cyber security and policy.
  • Experience working with diverse groups/diverse students.
  • Recent experience developing web pages with WordPress or other web development tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including word processing, editing and graphics functions, and spreadsheet and database tools.
  • Master’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years of experience in related field of study.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Very occasional evening or weekend work may be required (not more than once a quarter)
