Who you are:

You are passionate about African current affairs, international relations, politics and technology. You are a team player and thrive in a fast paced, newsroom atmosphere where you can you utilise your fluency in French and be our in house expert on African news and developments. You will be an integral part of our algorithm training process, serving as an resource to help define factors that are important to our clients and provide feedback for algorithm assessment and improvement.  You love being at the forefront of breaking events that impact people all over the world!

Qualifications

  • Degree concentration in Journalism, African studies, terrorism/conflict issues, International Relations, Politics or closely related field strongly preferred
  • Fluency in French required
  • Fluency in English required
  • 3 + years relevant experience in journalism or research positions
  • Expert knowledge of conflict zones and geopolitics across Africa
  • Ability to monitor and analyze data quickly in both French and English
  • Demonstrated expertise and a passion for technology, social media (specifically Twitter) and following world news and current events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivation and an ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
