Socio-Cultural Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Serve as a socio-cultural analyst and identify emerging national security concerns within various populations and diverse geographies as related to WMD, threats, counter proliferation, and radicalization. Develop, execute, and author socio-cultural intelligence products using a variety of qualitative methods and processes and a range of classified and unclassified data. Identify creative analytic approaches to difficult WMD and counter-threat problem sets, including fusing academic qualitative approaches, human geography, traditional intelligence analysis, and alternative analysis to illuminate practical findings for the warfighter and senior government officials. Brief in a DoD or military environment and contribute to DoD and military planning or collection activities.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience in supporting the DoD or other agency primarily acting as a sociocultural intelligence analyst with a track record of producing intelligence products

-Experience with analyzing socio-cultural problem sets related to national security, including social instability, population dynamics, radicalization, and extremism

-Experience with and usage of multi-intelligence databases, both classified and unclassified

-Experience as a primary author on large, long-term analytic projects

-TS/SCI clearance

-MA or MS degree in International Relations, Conflict Studies, Peace and Security Studies, Global Affairs, Human Geography, Social Anthropology, International Development, Social Research Methods, Sociology, Social and Cultural Psychology, International Migration, International Health Policy, Social Work, or Criminology

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with DoD and military planners and exercises

-Experience with briefing senior government officials

-Experience with developing innovative research methodologies

-Knowledge of or prior application to WMD, threat networks, or counter proliferation
