Clean Clothes Campaign is looking for a Lobby & Advocacy Coordinator (4 days per week), based in Amsterdam or Brussels, starting as soon as possible.
Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) is dedicated to improving working conditions and supporting the empowerment of workers - most of them women - in the global garment and sportswear industry. The CCC global network consists of more than 230 trade unions and NGO’s, both in consumer and production countries, which are committed to a shared Global Strategic Framework and cooperate in global working groups, as well as through national and regional coalitions. Job Description:
The Lobby & Advocacy Coordinator will develop and implement high-level and impact-oriented lobby and advocacy strategies based on the CCC Network Global Strategic Framework themes towards companies, governments, international institutions, the business and human rights community, and other relevant (multi-stakeholder) industry initiatives.
They will develop key lobby messages, talking points and briefings, represent the CCC International Office (IO) or the CCC network at meetings, public events, negotiations, delegations and working groups.
They will be part of the small Lobby and Advocacy team, which brings together advocacy and campaign actions and priorities from other teams to form a coherent strategy, ensure there is consistency in messaging and approach, and develop and maintain effective relationships with key decision makers and allies in the global labour and human rights movement.
They will work with the other teams at the International Office (IO) of CCC as well as the entities in the CCC network (including national and regional CCC coalitions and CCC Working International Groups), to ensure that strategies and recommendations are developed and well coordinated, and to enable and support colleagues and entities in carrying out lobby and advocacy work towards policy-makers, industry initiatives and garment companies.
They will monitor key developments in the field, proactively communicate such developments to the network, and where required develop and provide a CCC Network or IO position.
They will quickly have the possibility to represent CCC at high-level meetings and events and make an important contribution to CCC’s policies and inputs to global debates on the development and implementation of responsible business conduct.
Please note that CCC is a small, hands-on, flat organisation where staff is expected to contribute to the development of the organisation by sharing overhead tasks where needed, and participate actively in policy development.
