Position description

FiscalNote Europe is looking for a EU Policy Researcher to join its office in Brussels. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on EU policy to ensure that our clients are up to date with the latest developments. We will also provide you with continuous training and support to develop your skills and understanding of EU affairs.

 

About the EU Team

Fundamentally aligned with FiscalNote’s core mission of connecting the world to its governments, the EU Issue Tracker team helps its clients to identify regulatory opportunities and threats in the EU. Delivering objective, structured and accurate near real-time EU legislative and regulatory tracking and horizon-scanning, our clients gain a systematic edge in regulatory monitoring. Our dedicated team of analysts work with Product and Business Development Teams in delivering the right EU data and analysis to our client base at the right time. Insightful and diligent, the EU Issue Tracker team works in a fast-paced continuous learning environment where teamwork and subject matter expertise are vital for producing the reliable, high-quality analysis we are known for. 

 

About You

You are passionate about EU affairs and eager to learn more. You are detail-oriented and able to pick up the main points quickly even in the most complex texts. Time management and structuring yourself to be able to manage several tasks simultaneously is something you take pride in. You are a team player, who can step in and help others while not being afraid to ask for assistance yourself. Being part of an international team is an environment that you enjoy working in.

What To Expect In This Position

    • Carry out EU legislative and regulatory monitoring tasks in the area of EU policy
    • Learn how to harness technology to improve intelligence gathering
    • Gain in-depth knowledge about EU legislation and specific EU procedures
    • Deliver accurate and clear analysis to our clients
    • Provide input to Business Development Team and participate in internal projects
    • Working both independently and in a small team

What Sets You Apart

    • Master's in EU Law or EU Affairs/Politics
    • Good understanding of EU legislative procedures and regulatory processes
    • Knowledge of EU politics and policymaking
    • Ability to write policy briefings, flash reports, and long-form analysis to a consistently high standard
    • Experience working in EU public or regulatory affairs is an advantage
    • Knowledge/experience in the area of EU transport, energy and climate, chemicals and/or trade policy is an advantage
    • Native or equivalent written and spoken English, plus other EU languages
    • Enjoy being part of a fast-paced and dynamic team
