ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for a driven professional with a strong background in economic frameworks and passion for the energy sector. Are you ready to interact at the highest level within an international and future thinking organisation? If yes, ENTSO-E is the right place for you.

In this role, you will provide project management support to the Finance Advisory Group Task Force, which focuses on the financing options to fund the upcoming investments by the TSOs and developing recommendations. Drawing on your expertise, you will facilitate TSO consensus, lead strategic discussions on the upcoming EU legislation, approve advocacy materials and ensure internal coordination.

As the Energy Economics Advisor, you will work at the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels within the Business Planning section, reporting directly to the Strategic Planning Manager.

Occasional travel may be required (2-6 times per year).

Your responsibilities

Responsibilities may be subject to change depending on the evolution of priorities and projects. The following tasks and responsibilities are foreseen:

      • Support the work of the Task Force under Finance Advisory Group including organising and facilitating Task Force meetings, ensuring effective collaboration among stakeholders, preparing agendas, and tracking action items to drive progress. Act as the point of contact, guiding discussions, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals;
      • Work with ITC operations and data administrators to complete settlements on time. Initiate and follow up on ITC audits, ensuring smooth TSO payments and compliance with regulatory requirements;
      • Ensure adequate reporting of the topics covered to the involved ENTSO-E bodies such as Board, Assembly, Committees including preparing executive briefings and presentations;
      • Interact with ACER, with the European Commission, and other stakeholders, including representing ENTSO-E position with regards to the EU Grids legislative initiatives;
      • Build close working relationships with other sections within the ENTSO-E Secretariat and association bodies;
      • Support to the day-to-day business of the Business Planning Section in relation to the functioning of the Board and its groups.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities:

      • University degree in Business, Economics or related field;
      • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the energy sector (experience with TSOs or electricity markets is a strong plus);
      • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration within the Secretariat, supporting committee members, building consensus, and clearly conveying the TSOs' work and positions to the Commission, regulators, stakeholders, politicians, and the public;
      • Solid understanding of economic frameworks, regulatory environments, and market mechanisms in the European energy sector;
      • Familiarity with EU legislative processes, particularly in relation to electricity transmission or broader energy policy is a plus;
      • Good capacity to analyse complex information from multiple sources (technical, legal, economic) and synthesize actionable insights;
      • Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of quality outputs. Familiarity with standard project management methodologies is a plus;
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
      • Proactive and results-oriented attitude;
